Do you often feel stressed or mentally overloaded? Do you want to find more inner calm, improve your focus, and feel better in your body?

The Relaxator is a breathing retraining tool designed to help you adjust your own breathing resistance, learn how to prolong your exhalation, and gradually increase your tolerance to carbon dioxide (CO₂). By guiding you toward slower, calmer, and more rhythmic breathing, the Relaxator supports immediate stress relief while training long-term breathing efficiency and balance.

Developed by the Conscious Breathing Institute and designed according to the latest research on stress and breathing physiology, the Relaxator is easy to use, affordable, and suitable for daily practice. Many people notice a calming effect already during the first use, making it a trusted tool for improving wellbeing in everyday life.

    Specifications

The Relaxator features five adjustable resistance levels, allowing you to fine-tune your breathing challenge and gradually increase exhalation length as your breathing capacity improves.

It is made from durable, skin-friendly ABS plastic that is free from BPA and phthalates. The compact design makes it easy to carry and use at home, at work, or while traveling. No batteries or power source are required.

    Material and Care Instructions

The Relaxator is made from high-quality, recyclable ABS plastic designed for long-term use.

After use, rinse with warm water. For deeper cleaning, soak the mouthpiece in warm water with a small amount of baking soda, then rinse and allow it to air-dry. Regular cleaning is recommended, especially if used daily.

Adjust the resistance by turning the mouthpiece to a level that feels comfortable yet slightly challenging. Place the Relaxator gently between your lips without biting down.

Inhale calmly through your nose, keeping the breath soft and quiet. Exhale slowly through the Relaxator, allowing the resistance to naturally prolong your exhalation.

Practice once or twice daily for 10 to 20 minutes. Over time, gradually increase resistance or exhalation length as your CO₂ tolerance, calm, and breathing efficiency improve.

What Is Included in the Package

The package includes one Relaxator Breathing Retrainer and simple instructions to help you get started and understand resistance levels.

Who Is It For / What It Does

The Relaxator is for anyone who wants to actively improve how they breathe and how they feel. It is especially helpful if you experience stress, tension, shallow breathing, difficulty relaxing, or mental fatigue.

By breathing out through the Relaxator, you create adjustable resistance that naturally slows your breathing and extends your exhalation. This supports a healthier balance between oxygen and carbon dioxide in the body and helps calm the nervous system.

With regular use, the Relaxator helps guide your breathing toward a slow, low, relaxed, and rhythmic pattern that:

Promotes relaxation, focus, and mental clarity
Balances the nervous system between activity and recovery
Opens the airways in the nose, sinuses, throat, and lungs
Strengthens the diaphragm and breathing muscles
Supports energy levels and metabolic efficiency

Because resistance levels are adjustable, you can meet your body where it is and progress at your own pace. This makes the Relaxator suitable for beginners as well as experienced breath trainers.

The Relaxator supports healthy breathing habits and wellbeing. It is not intended as a medical treatment.

    FAQs

Q: What is the Relaxator made of?
A: The Relaxator is made in Sweden from recyclable ABS plastic that contains no phthalates or bisphenol A (BPAs), and both the plastic and paint are food-grade approved and latex-free — chosen for durability and everyday use.

Q: With the Relaxator, I still breathe out through my mouth — why is that?
A: Although relaxed breathing is ideally done through the nose, exhalation through the mouth is part of Relaxator training because the device provides resistance that helps create a rhythmic, slow, low breathing pattern and engages breathing muscles; afterward, you return to nasal breathing.

Q: Why do I get dizzy when I use the Relaxator?
A: Dizziness can happen if the resistance is set too high — this can lead to a faster drop in CO₂ pressure because the body is adjusting to the added resistance; lowering the resistance and using a pace that feels relaxed often reduces this effect.

Q: Since CO₂ levels are high in COPD, why should you use the Relaxator?
A: Many people habitually over-breathe, creating low CO₂ pressure. Using the Relaxator to slow breathing can help restore balance by reducing over-breathing and increasing CO₂ retention, supporting more optimal respiratory patterns even when lungs hold more CO₂, as in conditions like COPD.

Q: How do I use the Relaxator and how long should I use it?
A: Start by setting a comfortable resistance and placing the Relaxator gently between your lips, then exhale slowly through it while inhaling calmly through your nose; most people benefit from using it for about 15 minutes, once or twice a day, gradually increasing time or resistance as your breathing becomes more relaxed and rhythmic.
