The Cardihaler is a precision-engineered CO₂ breathing device designed to improve breathing efficiency, nervous system balance, performance capacity, and long-term resilience. As part of the Cardi Series developed by the Conscious Breathing Institute, it represents the most advanced application of controlled carbon dioxide training available today.

Created by Anders Olsson, pioneer in modern breathing science, the Cardihaler is used by thousands of individuals and instructors worldwide. Many users report noticeable effects after a single session, with consistent practice leading to deeper, lasting changes across health, performance, and daily wellbeing.

Who Is It For / What It Does

The Cardihaler™ is designed for people who are serious about health improvement, performance optimization, stress resilience, and longevity.

Your body runs on carbon dioxide. CO₂ is essential for oxygen delivery, nervous system regulation, focus, stamina, and calm. Modern life often leads to overbreathing, lowering natural CO₂ levels and reducing efficiency across the entire system.

The Cardihaler™ works by:
- Gently increasing inhaled CO₂
- Slightly restricting oxygen intake
- Training the body to use oxygen more efficiently
- Supporting a calmer, more resilient nervous system

This combination helps restore the balance your physiology is designed for.

Users commonly experience:
- Improved calm and emotional regulation
- Better breathing efficiency at rest and during activity
- Enhanced focus, endurance, and recovery
- Greater resilience to physical and mental stress

The Cardihaler™ is widely regarded as the favourite product in the Cardi Series, valued for its precision, ease of use, and measurable impact.

This device supports breathing training and physiological adaptation. It is not intended as a medical treatment.

FAQs

Q: Can I use the Cardihaler with a SodaStream cylinder?
A: Yes — you can connect your Cardihaler to a SodaStream CO₂ cylinder. The device includes all the parts needed except the cylinder. There are different SodaStream options (Screw-In or Quick Connect) and adapters available depending on your region, but with the right converter and CO₂ regulator, you can use a household cylinder with your Cardihaler.

Q: What is the recommended Cardihaler protocol — how long, how often, and at what CO₂ percentage should I use it?
A: Protocol varies between individuals because CO₂ tolerance differs based on factors like lung function, breathing habits, and stress. It’s best to start low and slow — short sessions with a lower CO₂ percentage — and gradually increase as you become comfortable. Listening to your body’s response is key, and longer or stronger sessions are not always necessary.

Q: Is there a carbon dioxide (CO₂) gas tank included with the Cardihaler?
A: No — a CO₂ tank is not included with the Cardihaler. You will need to obtain a CO₂ tank separately. Food- or beverage-grade CO₂ tanks are commonly available from welding suppliers, beverage distributors, or stores that sell household carbonation cylinders.

Q: Do I inhale less oxygen when using the Cardihaler?
A: Using the Cardihaler does not mean a reduction in the amount of oxygen your body ultimately receives. The device introduces a controlled amount of CO₂ into the inhaled air, but oxygen is still present in the mix. The goal of controlled CO₂ exposure in conscious breathing practice is to gently support the body’s natural breathing regulation without depriving it of oxygen.

Q: Can my BOLT score increase with the Cardihaler?
A: Many users report that regular sessions with the Cardihaler can support improvements in the BOLT (Body Oxygen Level Test) score — a measure of breath-hold tolerance — though individual results vary. Some practitioners and athletes have observed noticeable increases over time with consistent use within their broader breathing work.
