SleepTape is a gentle, breathable mouth tape designed to help your mouth stay closed at night, encouraging natural nasal breathing and supporting deeper, more restorative sleep. It is a simple, practical tool trusted by our community to support healthier nighttime breathing habits.

A good night’s sleep is vital for good health, sustained energy, and overall wellbeing. During sleep, your body is meant to activate the calming part of the nervous system so it can heal, repair, and support immune function. How you breathe while you sleep plays a crucial role in this process.

Sleeping with an open mouth often does the opposite. It can keep the body in a state of alertness or fight-or-flight, reducing the quality of rest and recovery. This is why breathing through the nose during sleep is so important.

Specifications

Sleep Tape is made from nonwoven rayon material that is hypoallergenic and latex-free, making it suitable for comfortable skin contact during sleep. Each strip is 9.4 cm × 2.4 cm, sized to comfortably cover the lips and support closed-mouth nasal breathing throughout the night.

Variants:
90 strips;
120 strips (90 + 30);
270 strips (3 × 90)

All variants use the same gentle, breathable material that supports secure adhesion without irritating the skin.

Material and Care Instructions

Sleep Tape is made from breathable, skin-friendly material suitable for sensitive skin.

Apply to clean, dry lips before sleep. Place the tape horizontally across the lips and remove gently in the morning. If you have sensitive skin, test on a small area first and discontinue use if irritation occurs.

What Is Included in the Package

Depending on the option you choose, your package includes:

90 strips
120 strips (90 + 30)
270 strips (3 × 90)

Each strip is pre-cut and ready for easy nighttime use.

Who Is It For / What It Does

Sleep Tape is for anyone who wants to improve sleep quality and support calm, efficient breathing during the night. Since it’s difficult to monitor breathing while asleep, Sleep Tape offers gentle guidance by helping the lips stay closed so breathing naturally occurs through the nose.

By supporting nasal breathing during sleep, Sleep Tape helps create the conditions your body needs to settle into a calmer nervous system state, support recovery and immune function, reduce dry mouth, and wake up feeling more rested and refreshed.

Sleep Tape supports healthy breathing habits during sleep and is not intended as a medical treatment.

FAQs

Q: What is Sleep Tape made of?
A: Sleep Tape is made from non-woven rayon material that is hypoallergenic, latex-free, and chosen for comfort and gentle skin contact during sleep; it has been used in this form since 2013 because it balances adhesion with ease of use.

Q: I sometimes find it difficult to remove the Sleep Tape in the morning — do you have any tips?
A: If Sleep Tape feels tight or hard to remove, you can try hydrating lips before removal, pressing the tape gently against your pillow to loosen adhesion, reusing the tape across several nights so the adhesive gradually weakens, placing it from nose to chin to reduce skin contact, or folding the ends so it’s easier to lift; these small steps often make removal more comfortable.

Q: I wake up tired after using the tape for a couple of nights — should I continue?
A: Some people notice fatigue initially as they adjust to keeping the mouth closed overnight; this can diminish as your breathing habits adapt, but if tiredness persists or feels disproportionate, it’s fine to pause and reassess how you’re using the tape or consult additional guidance in the Help Center.

Q: Can children use Sleep Tape at night?
A: Sleep Tape is designed for adults and is not automatically suitable for children; if you’re considering it for a younger person, it’s best to ensure it’s appropriate for their age, breathing pattern, and comfort, and to consult additional guidance before regular use.

Q: Is there a connection between a sore throat and mouth taping?
A: Some people notice mild irritation around the mouth or lips when first using Sleep Tape, especially if skin is sensitive or dry; adjusting placement, hydrating before taping, or using skin-friendly barriers can help reduce this sensation while you adapt to the practice.
